Ring in the New Year Family Style

The New Year is a time for celebration and reflection, and for many of us, spending quality time with family is the best way to do that. Gathering together in a cozy setting to share stories, laughs and some delicious food can make your holiday season even more special. So why not ring in the new year as a family?

With some creative ideas, you can make this an annual tradition to look forward to every December! From fun activities like hosting a game night or movie marathon to crafting festive decorations - there are plenty of ways for your family to have fun while celebrating the start of 2023. Here are some great ideas on how you can create memories that will last long after the ball drops!

Host a Family Game Night

Gather your family and friends around for an evening of board games. Whether it’s a classic game like Monopoly or Pictionary or something new that you all haven’t played before - the friendly competition is sure to be entertaining!

Movie Marathon

Put on your favorite flicks and enjoy a cozy night in. Pop the popcorn, make some snacks and let the marathon begin! It’s an enjoyable way to relax and spend quality time with your loved ones.

Living Room Slumber Party

This is a great way to get the kids involved in the celebration. Have everyone bring their favorite PJs, sleeping bags and pillows for a night of fun! Serve up some snacks and hot chocolate while watching movies or playing games until it’s time to hit the hay!

Watch the Stars

What better way to celebrate the new year than by taking in the beauty of nature? Gather blankets, hot drinks and head outside to watch as the stars twinkle above. You may even be able to spot a shooting star!

Make Some Festive Decorations

Use supplies from your local craft store to create some unique decorations for the New Year. You can even get creative with 3D paper mache snowflakes or hang some homemade paper lanterns!

Ring in the New Year with a Toast

Gather around to toast the new year. Whether it’s a mocktail, champagne or your favorite punch - let everyone take turns in leading the toast for 2021. It’s an exciting way to welcome the upcoming year and help set the tone for all its possibilities.

Have New Year "Ball" Drop Early

You can ring the New Year in with your younger kids by using a balloon and having this "ball" fall earlier so they can get to bed on time. The anticipation of the balloon falling and the countdown to the New Year will be sure to bring smiles all around.

No matter how you choose to celebrate, make sure that you enjoy quality time with your family this New Year! From game nights and movie marathons to crafting decorations and making a toast – there are plenty of ways for your family to have fun while making memories that will last long after midnight. So don’t hesitate to try something new and create a tradition that your family will look forward to every December!
